Progress Report for Success Guide for Transfer Students to UTAs BSN Program
June 27, 2016

INTRODUCTION
On June 16, 2016, Dr. French approved of my groups proposal and we began working on our project. My group
members and I decided that we would do our project for students that decided to pursue nursing and would be
transferring from Tarrant County College to the University of Texas at Arlingtons bachelor degree nursing
program. Many students that want to transfer to the University of Texas at Arlington for their nursing program are
not sure of the transfer process requirements, which includes the prerequisites that are required to be taken, the
deadline to apply to the University and their nursing program, and the grants and scholarships that maybe
available to them. My group members and I decided that we would conduct secondary and primary research about
the transfer process then construct a success guide pamphlet and power point which will include the topics listed
above. My role in this project is being one of the lead researchers and I was assigned to be a part of many tasks
for our group project which includes: the secondary research, primary research, usability test of guide, rough draft
of the power point, and the final editing of the guide. The purpose of this memo is to inform you of my progress
on completing my assigned tasks.

WORK TASKS I COMPLETED

I have completed two out of my five tasks that were assigned to me which is the Secondary and Primary
Research.
Secondary Research Task
For our secondary research, myself and one of my group members, talked to an admissions counselor from the
University of Texas at Arlington and asked questions about the transferring process, deadlines, and other
requirements for getting accepting into the University of Texas at Arlington. I also asked questions about
scholarships and was informed by the admissions counselor that there are several scholarships that are available
to students once they are accepted into the University and nursing program.
Primary Research Task
After completing the secondary research my group members and I came up with a survey that consisted of nine
questions. Twenty students were given our survey which asked questions about transferring from a two year to a
four year university. The survey gave me very good feedback as to what students know and do not know about the
transferring process which will help in developing our success guide pamphlet.

FUTURE WORK TASKS THAT I STILL NEED TO COMPLETE

There are still three more task that need to be completed which are: The Usability Test of Guide, The Rough Draft
of PowerPoint, and The Final Editing of Guide which will all be completed by July 3, 2016.
Usability Test of Guide
I will use the outline that was created for the guide and will test it. Each one my group members plan on
transferring to the University of Texas at Arlington to obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Throughout the
process we will check the outline with where we are currently in our personal transfer process. This part of the

project has not been started and will be completed by June 30, 2016. I will collaborate with my group members in
completing this part as this is to be done with all three members.
Rough Draft of PowerPoint
For the power point my group members and I will take all of the information that we gathered from our secondary
research and use it to help us create the rough draft of the power point that we will be presenting to the students
that are planning to transfer to the University of Texas at Arlington to obtain a Bachelors degree in nursing. This
is past due and should have been completed by June 25, 2016 but will be completed by July 2, 2016.
Final Editing of Guide
Once every step of the project is completed, my group members and I will get together and go through the editing
process as a team. We will look for any important information that was left out that should be added and will
delete any unimportant information that needs to be deleted. Final editing will be completed by July 3, 2016 and
then the guide will be ready to be presented to students of Tarrant County College on July 7, 2016.

CONCLUSION
I have successfully completed the Secondary and Primary Research Tasks and I will begin working on the
Usability Test of Guide, Rough Draft of Power Point, and the Final Editing of Guide, and I will have these three

parts of the project completed by July 3, 2016. The power point and the success guide will be ready to present to
