Gallery showcases young digital artists in its latest exhibition story by RYANNESH PANICKER ryannesh@mystar.com.my ARTISERI Gallery has launched an exhibition featuring digital artworks from seven young talented artists under the tutelage of Yusof Gajah.
The exhibition themed Digital Painting
Vs Manual Painting was launched by National Association of Registered Childcare Providers Malaysia executive director Jameyah Sheriff at the Seri Pacific Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. Also present was Seri Pacific Hotel general manager Halim Merican. It was great to see the talent of all the young artists who participated, said Jameyah. Artiseri Gallery, in a press statement, said it had taken the opportunity to provide exposure for digital artists to highlight their talents and give visitors the chance to evaluate their works on display. The digital artists were present at the launch to give an insight into their works to visitors. I tried to incorporate local elements in my work. I had to manually draw the strokes and
experiment with different colours in
Photoshop to get a nice rustic look, said digital artist Muhammad Syahid Yusof, 25. Another artist, Khirulnizam Aziz, 23, said he was happy to be given the opportunity to showcase his works. By drawing digitally, I have more control over the strokes and colours, he said. Artiseri Gallery is a permanent addition to Seri Pacific Hotel and since its inception a year ago, the gallery has organised more than a dozen art-related events. It hopes to work with talented artists by providing them a platform to promote their art and connect with their audience. Artiseri Gallery is open to the public and admission is free. The paintings are for sale. The exhibition ends on Sept 8. For more details, call 03-4049 4515/034049 4314.
