Matsui Rena interview in some mag, probably dated from last December.

Manga talk in
side.

This time, without much artifices, we tried create a space which would feel like
reality had mix with the world of manga~.
Rena - That was a great idea, really!
Rena-san, I could notice you often engage in discussions about anime but what ab
out manga?
Rena - I only read manga periodically, but when I do I cant stop anymore.
Do you have any favorite title?
Rena - Honey and Clover, without a doubt. Art is beautiful and from all the manga
Ive read so far, this one had he most wonderful ending!! I also feel Umino (Chika
) senseis works splendor when the sentences frame superbly synchronizes with the m
onologue!! That greatly moves me!
I see~ Anything else?

Rena - I also like Kazumi Yuana style. Like Katchinko (TL: , meaning clapperb
sei Drops for example. The kimonos patterns, the little details in the shop the pa
inted watercolors applied over are so delicate! The way tones are affixed is als
o wonderful!!
Uhh- Rena-san, I think we clearly understood your enthusiasm You get excited over
such expert elements its hard for me to follow you though.
Rena - Let says then that I respond easily to drawing. Of course, I also get mov
ed by the storyline but I often buy manga just because of their covers only.
What was the very first manga you came into contact with?
Rena - Those I remember perfectly because they left an astounding impression on
me are the ones my father hold since he loved them AKIRA and Nausica (of the Valley
of the Wind
Super high-level education right there (laugh)
Rena - And then There was this very scary manga, I couldnt sleep at night when I r
ead it There was a boy with glasses Should I now free you from that gruuuudge~
Matarou is here!! (TL: / Matarou meaning the son of the devil), by Fujiko
Thats completely unexpected but in some way it sounds appropriate.*
Rena - Speaking of which, lately Ive been wanting to read Glass no Kamen. We happen
to have the whole collection at home but I never got around to read them. Befor
e, whenever I had a job requiring acting, Id say to my manager things like But May
a ate those mud dango! (laugh). And I added Me too Ill give my best, just like May
a!!!. (TL: In Glass no Kamen, there is a scene where Maya, who was supposed to ea
t manju in a scene had to eat dango made of mud instead since someone switched t
hem in secret)
If even now, when playing you cross over own boundaries, reading Glass no Kamenwil
l put on fire your actress soul and so will resonate Rena, such a dreadful/amazin
g girl! !!!

Rena - No way, no way, no way (shining). But for now, I want to read it and I lo
ok forward to see which emotion it will bring to me.
*Was implied that such a scary manga is a surprising read for a child, but at th
e same time it fits (explains?) Rena personality pretty well.

Bubbles:
- Midorimushi is not an insect (tl: since insect = mushi, the word is misleading
in Japanese)
- The Earth axis is slanted
- 1 melonpan, 2 melonpan
- 3825 melonpan, 3826 melonpan
- I want, a finishing move.
The last one is my favorite of course, no wonder she used to have it as her G+ D
P(oo)Was too small at the time however, couldnt read what was on the bubble. Glad to
finally know~
