    The greenhouse effect is good as it keeps the Earth warm enough to support life, but global warming is bad. Global warming is supposedly caused by excess carbon dioxide and methane from the combustion of fossil fuels and other sources, which are trapping more heat in the atmosphere than the natural greenhouse effect. Without the greenhouse effect, the Earth would be 20-30 degrees Celsius cooler and cities like Miami would have much lower temperatures.

    Life, as we know it, would not exist on earth without the greenhouse effect.
    Earth would be 20-30 Celsius cooler without this natural phenomenon. Miami
    would be 50 Fahrenheit not 100 . Global warming on the other hand is
    supposedly the byproduct of fossil fuel combustion producing CO2 in excess,
    and CH4 from decay, waste from living things, and oil wells.
    Here are the offending reactions:

    CH4 + 2O2 CO2 + 2H2O
