Class Description
English IV British Literature
This course conducts a survey of British Literature from various time periods, including
contemporary works. Students will read short stories, plays, poems, novels, and novellas
and respond to the texts through writing and Socratic Seminars.

Grading Policy

Late Work Policy


Assignments will not be accepted after the due
date. You will be given realistic deadlines and are
expected to meet them. If you need assistance with an
assignment in order to complete it by the due date, you
can send an e-mail or come by after school for help.
If you choose to not turn in an assignment on the
day it is due you will:
1. Receive a zero for the
assignment
2. Have a student/teacher
conference to discuss the
reasoning behind the
unfinished work
3. Have your parent or
guardian contacted
4. Receive DPS points

Home Computer/Printer
At times you will be required to type and print assignments outside of
class. If you do not have access to a computer or printer at home, let
me know so we can arrange a time after school for you to use a
Chromebook to type and print your assignment.

Absent Work
Your work will be waiting for you in the
absent work folder with a cover sheet
detailing the instructions and your due date,
which will differ from the rest of the class. A
zero will be placed in the grade book until
the work is turned in with a note saying that
you were absent. If you do not turn the work
in by your due date, the zero will remain.
