Introduction to environmental engineering (definition of natural

environment; objective, content and methods of environmental
analysis; multidisciplinary studies, biological, medical, physical,
chemical, legal, economical, sociological and engineering
approach; objectives of different methods of analysis). Basic
notions of common environmental engineering. Historical
development of interrelation between civilization and
environment (sustainable development). Classifications and
divisions in subject matter (according to the approach in studies,
pollution system, source of pollution, mode of action). Policy
and standardization in the field of environmental engineering
(international, national, internal, criteria and standards).
System and local approach in analyzing and resolving problems
of sustaining environmental quality. Basics of ecology
(organization of eco systems and natural equilibrium, resources
in biosphere, main biological mechanisms and human ecology).
Principle of equilibrium conservation (ecological equilibrium,
biochemical and chemical equilibrium, energy and thermal
equilibrium, substantial balance equilibrium).
Main sources of disturbance of natural equilibrium (sources,
characteristics and effects of pollution). Principle of harmony
between growth and development (capacity of natural resources
and dynamics of their use, qualitative and quantitative elements
of using a resource, system management in environmental
engineering, monitoring and planning).
Principle of world unity (connection of local influence and
global changes).
Future and environmental engineering.
