Maslows Hierarchy of Needs

The pyramid consist of various human needs. The needs are categorized with
lower level needs requiring to be being met first before higher level needs.
For example, you need to have food, water and shelter (Psychological needs)
before you can have good health (Safety needs). Once all needs have been
met, you reach the full realization of your potential. This is known as selfactualization.
This management style helps managers understand the importance of their
employees needs. When employees needs are satisfies, they can achieve
higher productivity and reach their full potential.
The retailer Tesco uses this management style. At Tesco, employees lower
lever needs, like good working conditions and job security, are met before
higher level needs like achieving status and reputation in the company.
