Least Learned Skills in ENGLISH for the 2ND Quarter Assessment Test in Grade 2
2 Identify title, author and book illustrator and tell what they do
Intervention Plan:
The intervention that will be done for the new normal settings is different
and really challenging since we can’t do it face to face. We have to plan ways
on how we can reach out our pupils with or without internet access or gadgets.
The most appropriate and safe way is using different platforms like
Google Meet or Messenger in which I can communicate with them through
video chat. I can present my power point for more exercises and enrichment
activities, using different materials like slides or video particularly on the topic –
Identifying title, author and book illustrator and tell what they do and, on the
topic,- Recognize the common terms in English relating to part of a book is also
a great help.
But for those who don’t have internet access and gadgets, printed
materials should be available for them especially on the topic-Writing some
words, a phrase or a sentence about an illustration or a character. We can talk
to the parents personally during submission or retrieval of modules and give
them the material. Making make phone calls for follow up is also a way to
monitor their development.

Aside from these strategies, we also made home visitation to some of our
pupils who need follow up. We bring some enrichment activity sheets for them
to answer. To be safe in doing this kind of intervention we follow the health
protocol to avoid the virus.
After the 2nd Quarterly Assessment Test in English, we take note of the
least mastered skills, and we made some interventions to enrich their knowledge
on the least mastered competencies. This intervention tends to reteach the
competencies which are not so clear to the learners to help them gain mastery
of the skills. We provide some activities that reinforce the content of the lessons.
The following pictures show how interventions were done and the
additional enrichment activities for each least learned skill.
The teacher made some home visitation and sometimes classroom intervention
to some pupils. She made additional explanation/discussion about the least
learned skills and the pupils answered the enrichment activity sheets.
