September Program

Dear Kappa Phi sisters,

With all of our exciting programs and enthusiastic
officer help; it looks to be a GREAT year for our
chapter. We know you will do your part to attend and
support and find wonderful teachers to invite for
membership! Our thanks to Barb Taylor and Debbie
Moss for working so hard on our yearly plans and to Pat
B. for jumping on the wagon with dues reminders.
Thanks to all who will be attending the Area 9
Workshop to get even more great ideas and enjoy more
fellowship with our sisters across DFW.
On a personal note, I would like to reiterate my thanks to
you all for your generous donation to the scholarship
fund for my children. I think we will save for AJ as
Savannah is beginning her third year at the University of
Arkansas, and we will use our savings to finish her
costs. I thank you even more for your prayers and good
wishes as we continue our journey. As many of you
know, some days are better than others, but we pray a lot
and reread our cards and know that many people care for
us. I am blessed to know each one of you.
Tina Flatt
And many thanks to those of you who have already
taken on a role of leadership or a committee position.
And thanks to those of you who will soon be making
your own decision as to which committee is the best fit
for you and how you will serve, as well as be served by
Kappa Phi.
Susan Price

GETTING TO KNOW YOU, GETTING TO KNOW ALL

ABOUT YOU.

DATE: September 1, 2016

TIME: 5:30-7:30
PLACE: Sweet Basil

PURPOSE: To unite women educators of the world in a

genuine spiritual fellowship
To stimulate the personal and professional growth
of members and to encourage their participation
in appropriate programs of action
We know that you all are master educators, but being lifelong
learners, what else do you do? How do you play?
What are some fun and stimulating activities you do that
might interest others? What do you create artistically? (bring
your creation to show). How do you serve your community-many of you volunteer your time for worthwhile causes.
Let's have a fun evening of sharing and fellowship as we enjoy
one another.

Money Matters
Its Dues time! Thanks to the eight members who
paid their $90 dues at the August meeting. As discussed
then, only a small portion stays with the chapter. Dues
are due October 31st and as stated at the meeting, I will
hold your check until the date on the check. This may
help some members with their budgeting and it is not a
problem for me. You can give me your check at the
meetings or send to me at Pat Bielamowicz 2101
Columbia Dr. Richardson, TX 75081. I will let you
know when I get your check. Thank you for helping
with this not my favorite task.
I sent registration fees for the thirteen members who
indicated they would be attending the workshop in Ennis
September 17th. Five members have paid and the rest
can either mail me the $12 fee or give it to me at the
September meeting.
I received confirmation from Emma McClure that she
has registered at North Texas University and is excited
to begin this journey. I have sent her the $500 Grant-inAid scholarship money. We should feel proud to help
further Emmas education in teaching.
Thanks to the many members who contributed to the
Scholarship Fund for Tinas children, Savannah and AJ.
This will hopefully help the Flatt children with a
challenge that is always difficult.
In closing, it is not too early to plan for our annual
auction which benefits our Grant-in-Aid fund. You can
help by attending, bringing guests and contributing those
items that you have made or bought to the December
meeting! Pat

From our Area 9 Coordinator

Hello my dear sisters in Area 9,

We are ready to get going with a new biennium for our chapters! I am so excited to see the last half of my biennium
get started. We have 26 chapters In our Area! My desire and hope is to come see everyone this year.
Our first big adventure and platform is our Area Workshop! I look forward to seeing
you at the workshop. We have many of our ladies presenting and sharing with you.
We will be getting the program together online so you can check it out before you get to Ennis.
Stay tuned for directions!
Our Texas State Convention was so great and our area did an outstanding job of working at all
different levels. Thanks to Judy Mezick and Mary Claire Welch from our area for an outstanding
job in working tons and tons of hours to make the convention so successful!
In July, I traveled to Nashville along with 121 other Texans to attend the International
Convention. It was an awesome experience and all through the year I will share with you what I
learned and experienced from the convention.
In the meantime, lets get ready for a wonderful time in Ennis on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17!
See you then, Cathy

{RE: Area Workshop some are hoping to go up and spend Friday night there.}
