Design Brief Trash to

Treasure

Trash to Treasure

Client:

Anyone who wants a cleaner space.

Problem Statement: Trash is an increasing problem in our world today. Mounds of

it pile up in oceans and landfills, and though we are working


hard to promote recycling, people tend to forget about the
other two Rs, reduce and reuse. We have to create an new
invention or innovation made out of trash objects.

Design Statement:

We have to design, create, and evaluate a product with 3 trash


objects or more found at home or in the classroom.

Criteria: Use only readily-available recyclable materials


The product must be useful (that is, not be an artistic
sculpture,
decoration, etc.)
A minimum of three items must be used
The product can be either an invention or innovation to an
existing technology.

Constraints:

1.Designers have 4 days to work


2. Materials are ones brought from home and found in school
3.Can only use non-functioning products, trash
4.Must be an innovation or an invention
