NEFF NEWS

In Readers workshop we are working

on reading intensely to build ideas.
Reading intensely means that we pay
attention to every detail, because it
was put there by the author on
purpose.
We are also working on choosing books that
suit our individual reading levels and learning
some of the tricks readers use to select good fit
books before committing to a book.

SOME OF MY FAVORITE THINGS!

In Writers workshop we are learning

how to write realistic fiction. We are
learning how to develop characters
and settings to make our stories more
complex.

Hiking
Skiing
the Beach
Coffee
Learning about other cultures and languages

Like in reading we are learning to pay attention

to details in our everyday lives and record some
of these small moments. It is these small
moments that may inspire our writing in the
future

Cats
Horses
All things Italian
Knitting and Crocheting
Cooking
Being Creative

We will begin some of our hands on science starting next week.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

I have just recently relocated to the Bay area from New Mexico,
where I was born and raised. Although I have lived in Albuquerque,
NM for most of my life I lived in Rome, Italy for 5 years where I met
my husband and gave birth to our youngest child.
This summer I completed my Master of Arts in Elementary
Education at the University of New Mexico and received
distinguished marks. I also earned my Bachelors of Fine Art from the
University of New Mexico.
I have two boys ages 6.5 and nearly 4 who keep me busy!!
