Corporate
Challenge

This is the third year since the

Corporate Challenge has been
revived by the Sage YMCA. It has
gone from six companies the first
year to fourteen companies and over six hundred fifty
participants this year and is the YMCAs largest annual
fundraiser. All proceeds through registration costs
and sponsorships help provide financial assistance to
children and families around McHenry County who
otherwise couldnt afford a YMCA membership. This
year we helped raise $33,000.00.
There were one hundred twenty four participants from
Sage competing in every single one of the twelve
events. Sage also placed in every event except canoe
battleship. Our team did win one round, and this was
a new event. Now that we know how it goes, we have
something to strive for next year. We had first place
finishes in Trivia, Downtown Dash, Bags, Golf, Softball
and Volleyball.

Points were earned for placing in events. Each

company got 200 points for a first place finish, 100
points for second place, 50 points for third place, and
25 points for fourth place.
With 1825 points (nearly double the second place
team), we won the travelling trophy for first place in the
whole event. Of course the trophy wont be travelling
after this, because Sage will keep getting better! We do
want the other companies to have fun, so we try not
to gloat. Werner Co. took second place and Exemplar
Financial finished in third place. For a company of only
35 employees, thats pretty doggone good.
Evidently there has been some talk about beating us
next year. They can try, but just like in the industry, Sage
will stay a step, or several, ahead of the pack.
Thanks to everyone who participated, volunteered,
took pictures and cheered on our teams. We love
showing the rest of the community that Sage Products
is the best place to work because we try hard and have
fun doing it.
