Reflective Writing
Reflect:
A reflective writing is required for each stage of the practicum, one referred to the Observation period of
the practicum, one related to Team Teaching stage and one for the teaching stage. See next page
Tell what you learned, your insights, and your 'aha's'. How did you grow?
Tell what you now believe (your philosophy).
Write the questions you still have and explore possible answers.
Write about other perspectives you now see.
Tell what actions you will take as a result of new learning. What are your next steps
(goal-setting)?

Note: Reflection is thinking about and learning from experience. Reflective practice is the practice or
habit of reflection. Regular reflection on practice leads to the improvement of practice for professionals
(Brown, 2002; Dewey, 1933; Palmer, 1998; Schon, 1994; Schwartz, 2005).
