Abstract
India is the fifth largest retail destination globally. The Indian retail industry has
experienced tremendous growth over the last decade with a significant shift towards
organized retailing format and development taking place not just in major cities and
metros but also in tier II and tier III cities. However, India remains a largely untapped
and unorganized retail market with several international retail companies yet to
commence operations in the country. India holds a substantial advantage over other
emerging retail destinations owing to its strong domestic consumption and low rate
of marker penetration by overseas retailers. Through this project we have tried to
analyse the sales in different months using MS Excel.
Methods
Charts and Graphs, HLookup and VLookup, Macro, What if analysis, Goal Seek,
Solver, Pivot Table
Results
Analyze the various outcomes as per the input and take various business decisions.
Discussion
Different business functionalities and data analysis worked successfully and can be
applied to real business scenarios.
This project addresses different functionalities of Spencer with the help of MS Excel.

Scenario summary
Solver
The store manager wants to increase the sales to 32000000. However, he has some
constraints to consider. He cannot sell more than 40000000 in December 2012 and
he cannot give discount more than 0.05 in May 2012. So to find the change in sales
that he needs to make we use solver on the total revenue.
Macros
Used Macros to change the font size to 16 and font text to Arial for the table.
