Questions 172-176 refer to the following article.

172-176 .

Perry Weinberg Awarded Fenley Person

of the Year Award

Perry Weinberg, Fenley

Steven Odell

By Steven Odell

The Fenley Group is pleased to announce the winner of

this years Fenley Person of the Year Award. Perry
Weinberg was selected from a group of several people
nominated for their commendable acts of (172) altruism this
past year.
More specifically, Mr. Weinberg was chosen for the award
for his donations to various tribes throughout West Africa.
In total, his donations equaled over one million dollars, and
this money will allow dozens of villages to develop public
services for residents. This means fresh water, electricity,
and sewage systems for people who live in the most
primitive conditions.
Working alongside Deborah Atkinson, a former UCEF
Prize Winner, Mr. Weinberg is on the board of directors for
Doore Hydraulic Systems. Indeed, both Atkinson and
Weinberg are quite successful in the domestic business
scene. (173) Yet three years ago, they both set their sights
on using their wealth to help people in need.
(174)

Mr. Weinberg was a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa

35 years ago. He naturally wanted to use his savings to
help the people he had grown to respect and love those
many years ago. When asked about his work in Africa, Mr.
Weinberg stated, Im so happy to be able to create these
projects for the people of West Africa. (175)(176) But the
biggest obstacle I have had is the local governments there.
Surprisingly, many of them are against the development of
any kind of infrastructure in these communities. Basic
human needs such as fresh water and sewage systems
can help eradicate disease and greatly increase the quality
of life for these wonderful people. But their needs conflict
with the goals of governments in the region, and it really is
a struggle to get any of the governments there to approve
our development projects.

Tips for Long Journeys

Whether you are taking a long plane, car, or train trip, the
following tips will ensure that you arrive at your destination
in the best mood possible.

, ,

.

(177)
Be sure to stand up for a few minutes at least once
an hour. Do this whether it means stopping your car at a
rest stop, leaving your seat on an airplane, or getting up
and walking down the aisle of the train. It is not normal
for the human body to sit for long periods of time. By
standing up, you are allowing your circulatory system to
operate as it normally should, sending nutrients and
freshly-oxygenated blood throughout your body.

L
isten to peaceful music. Soothing music can make the
time pass by more quickly. Many people find easy jazz or
slow classical music to be excellent choices when taking
long trips. Research studies have shown that people
perceive time as going by much more quickly when they
are listening to soothing music.
(178)

Read a book. A book is a great choice to pass the
time when taking a trip. Your favorite spy novel can
engage your imagination and make you forget about the
real world momentarily. (180) For families, picture books
are an exceptionally good choice. Kids love looking at
the pictures, and this will get the family to interact instead
of focusing on the monotony of the long trip.

it if you could call me to discuss this matter at your earliest
convenience, as we would like to have the system in place

I purchased a two-year subscription to your newspaper.
(194) However, after receiving fifty two weeks of the
subscription, no papers have been delivered for seven
days (since January 1 to be exact). Im contacting you to
find out if there was simply a mistake, and that your
records show I only signed up for a one-year subscription.
But, I have the original invoice for my purchase, and it
does, in fact, show that I purchased a two-year
subscription. The purchase number was #392201. Could
you please take care of this problem for me? Thank you.

Questions 196-200 refer to the following memo and schedule. 196-200 .

The recent delays in the delivery of sheet metal and
windows have set the finishing date of the Spring Street
Subway station back several days. (199) To make matters
worse, the weather forecast is calling for snow starting on
Thursday and ending on Sunday. So we will not be able to
do any of the cement work we have been preparing to do
on the train platform and covered user walkway this week.
(196)

To deal with this situation, we have changed this weeks

construction schedule slightly to work around these issues.
(199) You will notice that the jobs will all be done indoors or
in covered areas, and this is, of course, because of the
expected snow. (198) I have also changed the primary goal
for Saturday, but we may not be able to follow through with
my plan for that day if the sheet metal is still not here by
then. (197) I believe that these changes will allow us to meet
our goal of completing the station project before the end of
next month.
Please check the new schedule and let me know if you
have any questions. We still may need to move some
people around if they are not available during their new
time slots. If this happens to be the case with you, please
contact me as soon as you can.
