JFET and BJT TWO STAGE RC COUPLED
AMPLIFIER

Aim: - To determine the frequency response of a two stage BJT and JFET
Cascaded RC coupled amplifier, to measure upper and lower cut off frequencies
of a CS and CE cascading amplifiers.
Also to determine the input and output impedances, Zi, Zo, respectively.
EQUIPMENT and PARTS LIST:
1- Oscilloscope (Scope / CRO).
2- Function Generator (FG) or Signal Generator.
3- 2 Digital Multimeters (DMM).
4- DC power supply.
5- Project Breadboard.
6- Resistors of 680 , 820, 2x(1, 2.2, 3.3,10) K.
7- Capacitor of 2(1F, 2.2F, 22F).
8- BC547 BJT and 2N3819 JFET or equivalent.

What are f1 & f2 values 1st stage and over all.

Procedure:

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

Adjust the Function Generator Frequency 1KHz.

Set the minimum amplitude between 1KHz (any mid frequency)
See the undistorted output and measure the amplitude VPP
Calculate VPP * 0.707 = K some value we get.
Increase FG frequency till you get K value, which is f2 upper
cutoff frequency.
6. Decrease FG frequency till you get K value which is f1 lower
cutoff frequency.
7. f2 f1 is the band width.
8. Take 6 readings each near f1 & f2 to have a fine frequency responce
curve.
