About Institute
Government College of Engineering, Chandrapur
has been established by Government of
Maharashtra in 1996, which has now developed
into one of the prime technical learning center in
the region. It is spread over a campus of 62.5 Acres
on Ballarshah road with all the needed
infrastructural facilities and amenities. The
institute offers UG programs in six disciplines, viz.,
Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and
Telecommunications, Computer Science and
Engineering and Instrumentation with a total
intake capacity of 340. The institute is in receipt of
grants under TEQIP-II.
About Chandrapur City
Chandrapur, a district place in the State of
Maharashtra, is located around 150 km south from
Nagpur. It is well connected by road and rail with
nearest airport being Nagpur. The region is very
rich in mineral wealth such as coal and limestone.
Due to its large number of coal mines, the city is
also known as Black Gold city. Many cement and
metal industries are located in this region. One of
the biggest thermal power stations in India is
located here. The climate is quite pleasant during
September.
About STTP
3D printing is defined by the ASTM F42 committee
as the fabrication of objects through the
deposition of a material using a print head, nozzle,
or other printer technology. However, the term is
often used synonymously with additive
manufacturing (AM). AM is the official industry
standard term according to ASTM and ISO, but 3D
printing has become the de facto standard term
and more popular than AM.
3D Printing is used to build physical models,
prototypes, patterns, tooling components and
production of parts in plastic, metal, ceramic,
glass, and composite materials. 3D Printing

systems use thin, horizontal cross sections from

computer-aided design (CAD) models, 3Dscanning systems, medical scanners, and video
games to produce parts in about every shape
imaginable.
Design
and
manufacturing
organizations use 3D printed parts for products in
the consumer, industrial, medical, and military
markets, to name just a few. This technology finds
application in digital cameras, mobile phones,
engine parts, interior trim for automobiles, parts
and assemblies for airplanes, power tools, medical
implants, etc. After more than two decades of
research, development, and use, the industry
continues to expand with the introduction of new
technologies, methods, materials, applications, and
business models.
