TASK:
1.
Carry out an experiment to compare the effects of table sugar, honey and
artificial sweetener on the fermentation rate of yeast. Table sugar contains
sucrose; honey contains fructose and glucose while the artificial sweetener
contains aspartame, a sweetening agent.
Prepare four measuring cylinders, labelled A, B, C and D.
A contains table sugar, yeast and warm water.
B contains honey, yeast and warm water.
C contains the artificial sweetener, yeast and warm water.
D contains only yeast and warm water.
Use the same amount of materials in each measuring cylinder.
Stir the ingredients in each measuring cylinder and start the stopwatch.
Record the maximum height of mixture attained in each measuring cylinder
after 30 minutes.
