Following the unprecedented success of the first Congress

four years ago, the Hellenic Society of Emergency
Prehospital Care (HSEPC), is very pleased to announce the
host of the 2nd Pan-Hellenic Congress on Prehospital
Emergency Care with International Participation.
The Congress will take place in the Porto Palace Hotel &
Conference Center between 11th and 15th May 2016 in the
vibrant, hospitable city of Thessaloniki.
The Congress, at the very beginning of its announcement, is
already marked by a great achievement, the participation of
the Cyprus Resuscitation Council as a co-organizer in the
event. This reaffirms the mutual trust and understanding that
has been built between the two organisations in recent
years.
Our collaboration shall be accentuated throughout the
Hellenic-Cyprus Resuscitation Symposium that will take
place during the Congress. The Symposium, with the
participation of the foremost members of the European
Resuscitation Council (ERC), will be a great opportunity to
discuss all the modern developments in the field of
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation as they have been published
in the New Guidelines 2015.
Following in the footsteps of the previous event, this
Congress will aim to embrace the whole emergency care
family. From the first responders, the volunteers and
members of the security forces, up to the paramedics and
specialised clinical practitioners of the receiving hospitals.
Each and every one of them, who plays a crucial role in
resuscitation and life support of the critically ill and injured,
will have an opportunity to have their voices heard.
The Congress is aimed at the core of Emergency Prehospital
Care and Emergency Medicine. Its goal is to provide the
latest knowledge and trigger discussions on the hot topics of
the structure of the Emergency Prehospital Care Systems, of
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in adults, children, infants,
and in special circumstances. It will be fertile soil for debates
about addressing trauma as a multilevel process in
prehospital, inhospital, military and civilian environments,
and confronting the challenges of mass casualty incidents.
The audience will have the chance to communicate their
concerns with distinguished Greek and foreign speakers, who
are renowned for the evolutions in the world of emergency,
through their research, daily clinical work and ethos.
The project will be completed through the implementation of
parallel activities, consisting mainly of high-level
international scale courses, before and during the Congress.
We have achieved to highlight our 1st Congress as a magnet
and a constructive gathering of the people of emergency in
our country. However, wanting to build upon this success, we
need a commencement that will leave its mark on the tough
reality that Greece faces. An event that will establish the
foundations for a step forward, against the indolent status
and complacency, and will develop a long-term strategy to
reform and reconstruct the Emergency Prehospital Care and
the Emergency Medicine in general, in our country.
