Plate 3: Elements of Design and Principle of Composition in Photography


Instructions :

1.

Inform the students of the objectives, mechanics, required output and


criteria of grading the plate.

2. to shoot any combination mentioned below


a. lines
b. form, shape or volume
c. perspective
d. texture
e. color
f. space (negative space or crowded)
g. contrast
h. balance (symmetrical or asymmetrical )
i. rhythm or repetitions or pattern
j. emphasis
3. Submission may be in the following format: On line, CD format or Print format with minimum
dimension of 5 x7and should be placed in a folder
4. The best photographs chosen by the instructor are to be printed in 8 x 10 or larger
for exhibit purposes portfolio

Plate #4: Photocomposition (Prelim Plate)


1.

Inform the students of the objectives, mechanics, required output and


criteria of grading the plate.

2. Have the students shoot subjects applying the proper technique


(correct exposure, depth of field,angle) and aesthetic consideration (composition)
and choice of subject.
3. Subjects covers the following:
a. still life
b. architecture or architectural detail
c. play of shadows
d. rule of Thirds

e. leading Lines
f. framed subject (natural or artificial)
g. subject and ground (foreground, middle ground, background)
relation in composition
h. content (strong versus weak)
i. motion
j. focal point (wide angle versus zoom)
4. Submission may be in the following format: On line, CD format or Print format with minimum
dimension of 4 x 6 and folder the best shots (stock shots)
5. The best photographs chosen by the instructor are to be printed in 8 x 10 or larger
for exhibit purposes and portfolio

Plate #5 : Motion and Speed

Instruction:
1. Inform the students of the objectives, mechanics, required output and criteria of grading the plate.
2. to shoot the following subject matter using a tripod, or lean the camera to object with steady base
as improvised tripod
3. Shoot to freeze action using fast shutter speed (4 shots sports)
4. Shoot to create motion blur using slow shutter speed (4 shots sports)
5. Shoot to create a panning effect (8 shots vehicles only)
6. Submission may be in the following format: On line, CD format or Print format with minimum
dimension of 4 x 6 and folder the best shots (stock shots)
7. The best photographs chosen by the instructor are to be printed in 8 x 10 or larger for
exhibit purposes and portfolio.
