Open Evening Arrangements & Other Notices

Open Evening - Wednesday 5 October 2016
This years annual Open Evening will be taking place from 5.30 8.00pm on Wednesday 5 October, and
many of your son(s)/ward(s) will be involved in the evening displays and tours that we put on for prospective
students and parents/carers. Many students will receive requests for permission for them to help staff and,
if this is the case, I would be very grateful if you would support this important evening.
EARLY CLOSE 1.10PM WEDNESDAY 5 OCTOBER
In order to allow students and the staff to go home and then return for the evening activities, the school will
be closing at 1.10pm on Wednesday. Students on Free School Meals will be able to get their meal at break.
LATE START 10.45AM THURSDAY 6 OCTOBER
As a large number of students will be helping next week, we will also have a slightly delayed start to school
on Thursday 6 October. Students will be required to be back in school for registration at 10.45am; they will
then proceed with the remainder of the school day.
I should be most grateful if your son/ward could help out on the evening, as our boys are this schools
biggest asset and cannot fail to impress potential future parents/carers and students. If your
son/daughter/ward does help on the evening, I would also be grateful if you could arrange to collect them
from the front of the school at 8.00pm - boys will be supervised by a senior member of staff until they are
collected. A separate letter will be emailed to you if your child has been chosen to assist on the evening.

Key Dates Autumn Term

QUIZ NIGHT FRIDAY 18 NOVEMBER, 7.30PM
Our annual quiz night takes place this term. It is always an excellent evening and a chance to meet other
members of the school community, whilst raising some funds for educational projects at school. Tickets
will go on sale soon.
NOVEMBER INSET & PPA DAYS
Friday 25 November is marked in the calendar as an INSET day, while Monday 28 November is a
designated PPA Day. Students are not required in school on either of these days. You can view the

END OF TERM
Please be aware that the Autumn Term ends on Thursday 22 December. Students are expected back in
school on Monday 9 January 2017.
