Middle School Honor Chorus

Friday, August 26th:
This form is due to Mrs. Baldwin.
Do not send any money yet.
I may only select 3 sopranos, 3 altos, 3 baritones, and 2
alternates.
I will audition the students during class. They will sing major,
minor, & chromatic scales and one sight reading example.
Friday, September 2nd:
I will announce in class which students have been chosen.
Monday, September 19th:
I will announce if they are allowing our alternates to attend.
Wednesday, September 21st:
$38 is due, checks made payable to Palmer Middle School
Tuesday, October 18th:
Selected Honor Chorus students must meet at 8:15 am in the
chorus room. They will sing the music for me so that I can be
sure they have learned their part. The music does not have to
be memorized.
Any student who has not been practicing will be removed from
Honor Chorus. No refund will be available.
Monday, November 14th:
Evening Rehearsal @ Lassiter Concert Hall (6:30pm-8:00pm)
Tuesday, November 15th:
Rehearsal @ Lassiter Concert Hall (9:00am-5:00pm)
Performance @ Lassiter Concert Hall (7:00pm-8:00pm)
Bring your checkbook if you would like to order a recording of the
concert. Look for the forms in the lobby.
Cost:

$38, which includes registration, rehearsal tracks, sheet music,

clinician, accompanist, honor chorus tee shirt, pizza lunch, facility
costs, recording fee, and office costs.

I give permission for my child to audition for Honor Chorus. I
understand that only a very limited number of spots are available and
agree that if my child is chosen, he/she will fulfill the requirements of
this event. If my child is chosen, I understand that I must provide
transportation for my child to Palmer at 8:15 on Tuesday, October 18 th,
to Lassiter at 6:30 pm on Monday, November 14th, and to Lassiter at
9:00 am on Tuesday, November 15th. I will be in attendance at the
Honor Chorus concert and will transport my child home at the end of
the event. I understand there is a $38 fee to participate if my child is
selected.
(Scholarships are available if your family cannot afford the fee.)
