DESIGN OF JIG/FIXTURE
DUE DATE FOR SUBMISSION: FRIDAY, 21 OCTOBER 2016 - 5.00 PM.
Design a JIG or FIXTURE for machining or inspection processes. You are free to define the
part and the operation required to produce the part. The complexity of the part and
manufacturing/ machining operation implies to the project mark. A part with high complexity
of design and manufacturing operation deserves higher mark rather than a part with less
complexity of design.
The report should consists of the followings:

Part Model/ workpiece (All drawings should follow the standard drawing format:
views, section view if any, GDT, notation, material, processes e.g. heat treatment
etc.).

Jig or fixture assembly drawing and details drawing for each parts (All drawings
should follow the standard drawing format: views, section view if any, BOM, GDT,
notation, material, processes e.g. heat treatment etc.).

All designs (workpiece and jig or fixture) are free to use any CAD software
(Solidworks/ CATIA/ Mechanical Desktop), or manual drawing.
5.
The design of jig or fixture should apply the principles of locating, supporting,
work-holding and clamping
