EXPLANATION

Heat Transfer of the soil

from the plant bag

The soil from the plant bag is of different temperature

than that of the earth to which the tree will be
planted. The soil in the planting site has high
temperature due to exposure from the sun, while the
soil in the plant bag is of lower temperature due to
lack of heat surrounding it. Once, the tree is planted,
the soil will have the same temperature then no more
energy can be transferred.

Momentum Transfer

Radiation

In Fluid Mechanics momentum, it is transferring from a

place where we have a lot of momentum to a place
where we have less. A good analogy is the flow of
traffic on a busy freeway. Since todays agenda is to
plant trees, we assembled at the university campus.
Through the jeep, we transported from more volume
place to the rural area where we are assigned to plant
trees.
We planted in a site where everyone is exposed under the
sun. The warmth that we feel from the sun is heat transferred
through radiation.

Conduction of Gardening
Tools

Metals are the best thermal conductors. The metal

part of the gardening tool had been exposed from the
sun so when it had contact with the soil, there is
transfer of heat from the soil and the tool.

Heat Transfer in the engine

The engine of a jeepney is turned on, and the hood becomes

of the jeepney

warm due to the conduction of heat from the engine to the

hood of the car.

Conduction of the food to its

packaging

When the food is placed onto a food packaging, the packaging

will feel warm to the touch after several minutes due to the
conduction of heat from the just-cooked food to the plate on
which it sits.
