Education is the most powerful weapon. By studying we
can find out a lot about the world around us. Some people
believe that you can learn more by personal experience while
travelling than by just going to school.
On the one hand, travelling is a great way to see, hear and
learn new things. Firstly, a lot of research proved that the best
way to learn is from experience. By travelling we can actually
see or hear something we are interested in and we can
remember it way easier. Nothing is more eye-opening than
surrounding yourself with another culture. Secondly, there is so
much more to learn if we visit than there is written in a
schoolbook. There is definitely many monuments or hidden
places that are not mentioned in a book. You can always ask
locals to show you secret places that not many people knows
about and are worth visiting.
On the other hand, by studying at school we can learn so
much about the world in just one place. By studying at school
you can learn everything from the history to geographical
features of every place that you want to. It is easier to grab
another book and read about a place we want to know more
about than it is to travel. Furthermore, it is a lot cheaper.
Travelling costs a lot of money while at school we can borrow a
book about any place we want to in a library for free. Moreover,
there are the most important and interesting facts about certain
country or region written in a book than we would find out on
our own.
To sum up, we can learn many things about a place if we
visit it and truly experience it and therefore remember it for a
lifetime. However, if we wanted to know more about the world
we would have to travel for a long time so it is easier and more
convinient to study from a book at school. In my opinion, we
can learn more by studying at school, but by travelling we gain
experience and for me that is what truly matters.
