1 WATER PROOFING IN SUMP

DEEPSEAL
DEEPSEAL is cement base compound supply in power foam and formulate from Portland
cement, fine quartz and sand, and active chemicals. The chemicals organic and inorganic salts
require the presence of water as are action can only take place between ions. These ions are
capable of reacting with oxide of, for instance calcium, aluminium, iron and other forming large
complex molecules. The ions all have one or free chemical bonds which each other or with other
complex ions. In this way large, long complexes are formed which then crystallize in the
capillaries. These complexes are capable of bonding physically or chemically with considerable
amount of water .It still however, allows the passage of water vapor, thus enabling the concert to
breathe.
The complex are also capable of exchanging atom groups with nearby molecules in a
similar way to ions exchange use in water softeners and can in this way penetrate through the
capillaries deep in to the substrate here they react as describe above with calcium oxide and
hydroxides also popular called free Lime
The DEEPSEAL products are given in below
DEEPSEAL 100
DEEPSEAL 200
DEEPSEAL 300
DEEPSEAL 800
DEEPSEAL 100
Deepseal 100 is very concentrated waterproofing material consisting of Portland cement an
active waterproofing chemical. It is normally used as an additive for cement grouts or
waterproof renders but can also used neat for plugging severe leaks or mixed up with water as
thin slurry coat for slurry coats on very smooth concrete surface.

DEEPSEAL 200
Deepseal 200 is applied as a slurry coat on interior or exterior concrete or blocks to create a
waterproofing barrier through the thickness of the wall. It can be apply by broadcasting the dry
power into horizontal concrete surface at the time of initial st and power or hand floating the
power in to the green concrete. Deeepseal 200 coating when hardened are resistance to many
salt and alkalis and to see water. Because they are dense, they even tolerate mildly acidic
condition and offer protection again frost, damage, waste water and are used as waterproof
bonding between new and old concrete and in the construction joint.
DEEPSEAL 300
Deepseal 300 is applied in mortar consistency to makes cover and for filling ringlets at
construction joint, It is also used to repair honeycombing, cracks, filling of form-tie holes and
cold joints, and is used in conjunction with Deepseal 200.
DEEPSEAL 800
Deepseal 800 is a rapid hardener for use with Deepseal 200for plugging severe leaks and to
make other Deepseal products set quickly
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
All surface to recive Deppseal product must be clean and free from oil, grease, paint ,loost dust,
and laitance. Horizontal surface should not have quaeing against or hardeners applied period to
the Deepseal application Rout out the repair all cracks larger than 0.01 in width
Ensure all concrete surface are hosed down with water as moisture must be percent capillaries
period to the Deepseal application . New concrete at least three days old can be treated and will

probably need only surface wetting . Broadcast dry Deepseal 200 and mechanically float power
in to the concrete at the time of initial set
Mix two and one-half part of Deepseal 200 to one part water by volume to produce a suitable
brushing or spraying mixture. The mixing should be used up with in half an hour, after with time
it stars to thicken .On no account to add extra water to restore the workability. Install slurry
coats in two passes applied while the first passes is still tacky
Deepseal treated surface maybe backfilled twenty-four hours after application Backfilling
material should be wet down adjacent of the wall.

7.2 WATER PROOFING IN TOILETS FLOORS

We used SPECtite 100 as a waterproofing material of the toilets all the details of SPECtite 100 is
given in below.

DESCRIPTION
SPECtite 100 is a two-component polymer modified cementitious coating. The product may be
trowel, brush, or spray applied to provide a flexible waterproof barrier.

TYPICAL USES
SPECtite 100 may be used where there is requirement to exclude water from building or retain
with a structure the material is particularly effective where there is requirement for a crack
bridging capability ,typical in following situations.

Potable water container, tanks and reservoirs

Swimming pools and silos

Waterproofing planter and boxes

Waterproofing new and existing building

Resistant of tie-bar holes

Foundation protection

As a backing marble and granite to prevent water ingress and thus alleviate surface
staining

Protected against protest water

Coating sea water channel

Protection of concrete against carbonates and chloride ion attack

ADVANTAGES

Withstand high hydrostatic pressure

High bond strength to concrete and masonry

The coating provides effective anti-carbonation cover equivalent to many times its
thickness in concrete

Excellent crack bridging capabilities even after long period of immersion

Can be applied to green or damp concrete

Long pot life even at high temperatures.

APPLICATION
Preparation
It is essential that adequate preparation is carried out prior to application of SPCEtite CW 100
The substrate must be clean and completely free from containments including grease, oil, and
loose material .any repair should be carried out using SpECbuild cementitious repair mortar.

Mixing
The product cannot mixed by hand .
The liquid is poured in to a 25-liter plastic or metal drum. The power is added slowly whilst
mixing with spiral paddle attachment on slow speed electrical drill mixing should contained until
there product is lump free and for a minimum of 5 minutes

Application
The prepared substrate should be dampened using a fine water spray. Care should be taken with
porous substrate as more extensive pre-soaking will be required .any free water from the surface
should be remove immediately prior applying SPCEtite 100
While the substrate is damp but free from standing water, apply mixing product by medium hard
sort bristle brush, trowel or roller checking that the first coat is at minimum wet film thickness of
no more than 1.5 mm and no less than 0.5 mm .the product should always be finish in one
direction.
The second coat should be applied as soon as the first coat is set hard , normally after minimum
of three hours at 25 0C and longer at lower temperature .This second coat should again be
finished in one direction (normally 900 to the first coat ).

The total thickness should be 1-2 mm on walls and 1-3 mm on floors depending on the
anticipating water pressures the general rules the coating thickness should be 1.5 mm on walls
and 2 mm on floors up to three meter hydrostatic head .For deeper structure the wall coating
thickness should be increased to 2 mm and and floors to 3 mm.

Equipment Cleaning
Tools and equipment should be cleaned immediately using water as on harding the material can
only be removed mechanically.

Packing & yield

SPCEtite CW 100 is supplied in 22.1kg two part packs. complete mix pack cover approximately
6.4 m2 at 2 mm thickness depending upon the substrate profile

Storage & Shelf Life

When stored in cool environment in original unopened container, the material has a shelf life of
12 months

Health and Safety

SPCEtite CW 100 contains alkalis and protect should be provide to prevent contact with skin
and eye. Inhalation of dust must be avoided whilst mixing. Gloves ,goggles and dust mask must
be worn.
