SEMINAR TWO JOURNAL

Question and Answer
Part 1;
From the readings of the Through Womens Eyes, it is important to note that women
have faced a lot both today and in the past. The experiences of todays woman have a lot of
similarities to the women of the past. The issue of gender inequality is a binding factor for these
two generations of women. Since time immemorial, women have been placed a second to men.
The readings from the books assist one in understanding that women of the past and
today were the heart of the nation. In addition to that, the readings highlight the lives of women
from different ethnicities. It helps one understand how the Native American women and the
African slave were the backbone of a family in terms of religion and from different regions. An
unresolved question would be how both the African women of today and in the past managed to
get along with Native American women. The comparison for both women of the past and of
today is that they have always been the pillar of a nation. According to the readings, both native
women and African slave women of today and the past were tasked with the burden of bearing
children and being for the family spiritually
Part 2.
My reactions on the website dove.us are that it was developed to help women regain their
confidence in terms of beauty and expression. The website provides cosmetics to enhance
women beauty and boost their self-esteem brought about by societal pressure. Similarly, the
website girlsinc.org inspires the girl child to be strong and firm in challenging issues. In my
opinion, the websites are aimed at boosting and empowering women to tackle life problems.
