Description:
This block demonstrates the loading of a simple date dimension table that can used in a
data warehouse.
This date dimension table stores the date related information at the day level. It contains
one row for each day and each row stores week, month and quarter level attributes. It
makes it easy to report fact table data under different time periods like weekly, monthly,
quarterly etc.
It uses the Julian representation of date as the primary key making it easy to populate date
dimension key when loading the fact table.

Steps to implement the solution:

1. Place source files into $PMSourceDir and execute script into database to create
target table.
2. Import workflow using Repository Manager. Select the appropriate folder from
repository and resolve the conflicts by choosing suitable option.
3. Open the workflow in Workflow Manager Assign the integration service in Workflow > Edit -> Integration Service
4. Open mapping in PowerCenter Designer and observe expression transformation.
