PROCEDURE OF IMPORTATION
AND EXPORTATION OF GOODS

EXPORT
For exporting, transferring and carrying in
transit of goods in Parts 1 and 2 of Schedule
Strategic Trade Regulations 2010, permits
needs to be obtained

Special permit needs to be obtained if


exporting to limited destination as mentioned
in Part 3 of Schedule to the Strategic Trade
2010

Travelers leaving Malaysia with strategic


goods required to obtain permit and declare
customs using Customs form 22.

Permit application can be applied online at


www.mytradelink.gov.my but need to be
registered to Dagang Net Technologies first at
www.dagangnet.com

Exporter need to ensure that the permit


received is from the correct agencies with the
strategic goods listed in Part 1 and 2 of
Strategic Trade Regulations before exporting
process be done

Self declaration will be made online by the


exporter once during K2 or K8 declaration.
From the skrin, declaration will be made by
telling yes for item with permits and no for the
item without permits.

If exporter picking yes, the permit number


need to be inserted. The permit number will be
given from agencies once the permit been
approved

This number will be validated by the Customs


Information System (CIS) and if correct, SMK
will confirm CUSDEC K2 / K8 Export. If the
number of permits are not valid, then the
system will reject with error codes and
individuals
shall
make
declarations
electronically back

If the registration CUSDEC K2 / K8 Exports


still have not successfully registered, the
exporters / shipping agent shall refer to the
permit issuance agencies.

REGULATIONS OF EXPORTATION IN MALAYSIA

paper, textiles, clothes and military equipment, bricks, tin ingots, sugar, iron, steel and star fruit).

Linked to the protection of wild life, health, security and antiques.

The licenses are administered by Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) and the Ministry
of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (MDTCA).

IMPORT

REGULATIONS OF IMPORTATION IN MALAYSIA

goods
to
be
imported whether or not
subject to import duties
must be declared in
writing on Customs
Form No. 1.

All
declarations
must indicate
full & true
account
of:
(1)
the
number
&
description of
goods
&
packages, (2)
value,
(3)
weight,
(3)
measurement
or quantity,
and (4) the
country
of
origin or the
final
destination.

Declarations
must
be
submitted to
the Customs
station at the
place where
the goods are
to
be
imported.

All
duties/custom
taxes imposed
on imported
goods must be
paid
in
advance
before
the
goods can be
released
(import
tax
and goods and
services tax).
