Planning Brief
Purpose of the unit
The purpose of our unit is to see our ability on
planning and constructing products using appropriate
technical and creative skills in media. The purpose
of the unit is to also see how well we can each
understand and evaluate our own work by looking at
the different meanings and responses we have created.
The final purpose of this unit is to assess our
ability to present and use appropriate research and
also engage with media technology and use our skills
to develop these technologies.
Video Production
Preliminary Exercise: Continuity Exercise
The main task is to create titles and an opening
sequence of a new friction film.
Theoretical Understanding: The language of film and
grammar of editing, making meaning through moving
images, narrative and representation, action and
enigma, plot and story, establishing realism and
verisimilitude, mise-en-scene, genre and layer of
interpretation.
