Introduction Of TBSS

Tata Business Support Services Ltd (TBSS) Tata


Business Support Services (TBSS) was set up in
May,2004.
TBSS is among the Largest Third party Outsourced
Customer Service Providers in India, serving
domestic as well as international customers
,accommodate over 5000 employees.
It provide multi channel service delivery including
voice support in 10 different languages out of our
world-class centres at Pune, Hyderabad and Mohali in
India & USA centres at Florida and Ohio.

The Tata Group comprises of 100 operating
companies in seven business sectors. The Tata Group
is one of India's largest with revenues in 2009 of
$70.8 billion.
Tata companies together employ some 3,50,000

Project Introduction
In TBSS I had worked in recruitment and selection
department.
Recruitment refers to the process of attracting,
screening, and selecting a qualified person for a job.
Selection is the process of putting right men on right
job. It is a procedure of matching organizational
requirements with the skills and qualifications of people.
TBSS recruitment was of four profiles.
Tata Sky
Tata photon
Tata indicom
Tata Docomo
Recruitment process is divided into four parts.
Hr interview
Typing test
Aptitude test
Operation round
My Tasks in TBSS

To conduct the typing test.


To conduct the aptitude test.
To made the offer letters for sky, photon and for Tata
indicom.
To made the data entry of rejected candidates.
To made calling for pre or post pond of joining dates
for batches.
To made the employee references calling and then
make entry on the excel sheet.
To made the set of offer letters.
To made the position id in SAP software of offered
candidates.
To make the employee reference check call for MEA
process of their last working place.
Methodology
The study has been conducted using exploratory
research design.
The data collection method has been conducted
using primary and secondary data method.
The data has been collected from various sources
including published questionnaires, observations
reports, manuals, publications of TBSS, books
journals, company website and internet.
Sample size

The sample size was 100 respondents.


Sampling unit
The basic sampling unit containing the elements of
the population in this project unit is walk-in
candidates in the TBSSL Mohali.
Analysis and Discussion
Career growth is the main reason for choosing TBSSL
by 86% candidates.
Most of the candidates want to go for photon process
i.e. 27 for Photon process,7 for Tata-sky,14 for
Indicom process.
66% candidates are somewhat Satisfied through
interview process and 4% candidates are somewhat
dissatisfied.
Interview process is- 34% candidates feel that, the
interview process is too much lengthy,14%
candidates feel that it is Tough process, 30%
candidates feel that process is Easy.
Comfort with shifts- 96% candidates are comfortable
with the shift timing pattern and 4% candidates are
not comfortable with shift timing.
For providing good services,94% candidates had
chosen TBSSL for their job in future.
90% candidates feels that the work culture of the
TBSSL is perfect according to their imaginations.
Overall through interview process 12% candidates
are Strongly agree, 84% Agree.

Summery and Conclusion


The recruitment and selection process of TBSSL is
very effective process the candidates are very much
satisfied with the interview process. Every day walk-in is
approximate average 90-100 candidates and the no. of
joined candidates are increasing day by day, on the other
hand the declined candidates are also high in no i.e.
approximate average 30-40 candidates leaving TBSS
every day.
As per the last two years data the job
satisfaction among employee is
100%, only
one candidate had left due to job dissatisfaction.
The whole environment of TBSSL is very friendly. The
support staffs are very much hardworking and friendly
also. TBSSL is now going to start a new process of Tata
Indicom backend.

Recommendations

Recommendation is according to offered candidates are According to 80% candidates, TBSSL should increase
the salary packages and it should be according to the
experiences.
According to 40% candidates, Infrastructure and
seating arrangement needs to improve.
The division of process of candidates should not be
decided in 1st round and Saturday should be off.
According to Me The area for Recruitment department should be large
enough so that everyone can sit.
There should be proper availability of chairs in
Recruitment department.
The interview process should not take the whole day
it should be short process and should be completed
within 5 hours.
It should be compulsory to be in formal dress code
for all walk-in, unless they should not accept.
There is a need of 1 or 2 more cabs as per the
joining.
There should be a fix time for the employers break
and Break times for the employer should be fixed.
It should be compulsory to talk in English only.
