MEMBERS WHO GO ABOVE AND BEYOND

DAN REUTHER – Many thanks to Dan for making much needed signs for the golf course.
WAYNE SCHMIDT and his team of volunteers -- Our thanks for doing a masterful job of repainting the Marina building and
improving its looks considerably.

38TH ANNUAL MEETING OF LMOA MEMBERS: The annual meeting will be held on Sat., June 26 in the Clubhouse. The meeting
will be called to order at 10AM in the Faulconer Room. After a quorum has been established (at least 927 members represented by
proxy or in person), the meeting will be recessed until 1PM. Between 10AM and 1PM, members who are eligible may vote by ballot.
Eligibility: 1) members in good standing who did not vote by proxy by the deadline of June 18; 2) members in good standing who voted
by proxy but revoked that proxy before the deadline. At 1PM the meeting will be called back into session in the Terrace Room to
conduct the remainder of the Annual Meeting business, including annual reports and the announcement of the voting outcome.
PROXY DEADLINE: The deadline to vote by proxy in advance of the meeting is 5PM on Fri., June 18. To be sure your vote will be
valid, please follow the instructions in the Notice of Annual Meeting (with blue cover). Mark votes on the proxy form, complete the
authorization form on the outside of the blue envelope and return both, using the double envelope system for maximum privacy of your
vote.
OUTSTANDING BALANCES: Members must be “good standing” for their votes to be counted. If you plan to vote and have unpaid
LMOA financial obligations for which you have not made payment arrangements, please contact the Business Office as soon as
possible to resolve the balance.

DONATIONS BEING ACCEPTED FOR FIREWORKS: Last year there were no fireworks to celebrate Independence
Day due to budget cuts. Because of the community outcry, LMOA has committed to bring back the fireworks this year, in
spite of continuing financial challenges. Residents can help cover the cost of the display with donations. Send or bring
checks (marked “fireworks”) to LMOA, 41 Ashlawn Blvd., or simply drop donations into the donation jar in the
Administration Office. We’ll celebrate Independence Day and the Lake Monticello Spirit on Saturday, July 3.

PERSONAL FIREWORKS PROHIBITED WITHIN LAKE MONTICELLO: Please remember that all personal fireworks are prohibited
at all times, anywhere within the community.

FLAG RETIREMENT CEREMONY: On Flag Day, Mon., June 14, LMOA and the Fluvanna American Legion Post 2003 will hold a Flag
Retirement Ceremony at 7:30PM on the Clubhouse back lawn. Retire your worn or dirty American flags properly and with
dignity by burning during this moving ceremony. The ceremony will include musical tributes, readings and more. Bring
American flags you wish to retire to the ceremony. In case of rain, the ceremony will be held in the Terrace Room, with
the flag burning outside on the sidewalk, safely away from the building. All are invited to attend, whether or not you are bringing a
flag for disposal.

2009 POOL MEMBERS ELIGIBLE FOR 5% DISCOUNT ON 2010 MEMBERSHIPS: The Board of Directors decided late last year
to offer 2009 pool members a 5% discount on 2010 memberships. During last year’s pool season, the filtering system failed repeatedly
and resulted in several pool closures. This year, with the new system, we expect that the pool will operate without difficulties. If you
were a 2009 pool member who already paid for a 2010 membership but didn’t get your discount, please email ksampsell@lmoa.org
or call the Administration Office at 589-8263.
