INFORMATIVE SPEECH CHECKLIST (WRITING)

INTRODUCTION:
Does it use a brief attention-getter that relates to the audience and topic?
Does it state concise claim?
Does it give the audience a birds eye view of the topic and its main
points?
Does it have complete introduction that is relevant to the audience and the
topic?
Does it invite the audience to crave and to anticipate for more in the next
part of the speech?
BODY:
Does it include the main points and supporting points that are linked to the
main claim?
Does it present main points in a logical order?
Do I have at least two, but no more than five, main points?
Does it elaborate supporting points that vividly informs the audience of my
stand?
CONCLUSION:
Does it summarize the main points and rephrase or restate my thesis?
Does it create a logical closing statement that leaves the audience ?
Does it conclude with a verbal statement of non-verbal cue that signals the
end of the speech?
Is my conclusion well-crafted?

Do I build rapport with the audience through eye contact?
Do I make the delivery convincing though verbal and non-verbal cues?
Do I project the prosodic features of speech?

Do I pronounce and articulate my words clearly?


Do I use my notes effectively without becoming note-dependent?
Do I convey enthusiasm/excitement for my topic?
Do I appear confident, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and credible?
Am I prepared but not over prepared?
If I use visual aids, do they enhance without detracting from the message?
Do I adhere closely to the time limit?
Do I make the speech believable because it feels spontaneous?
Do I maintain audience attention in the entire delivery?
