Standardized Dress Guidelines


The districts elementary schools have adopted standardized dress, with the exception of The
Academy at Nola Dunn, for which uniform dress has been defined. The standardized dress
guidelines are established to teach grooming and hygiene, instill discipline, prevent disruption,
avoid safety hazards, and teach respect for authority. The student and parent may determine the
students personal dress and grooming standards, provided that they comply with the following:

Turtlenecks and long or short sleeved polo style shirts in navy, red or white solid
colors. No logos, labels or ruffles.
Academy Elementary: Please see Academys website
Bransom Elementary: No additional colors
Brock Elementary: orange and royal blue
Clinkscale Elementary: black and yellow
Frazier Elementary: black
Hajek Elementary: black and light blue
Mound Elementary: black and bright yellow
Norwood Elementary: black and green
Stribling Elementary: black and maroon
Taylor Elementary: black

Peter Pan collared white shirts for girls. No logos.


Navy, khaki, or black bottoms: pants, skorts, skirts, shorts and capris Docker style (no
denim, jean styles, corduroy, painter/cargo, or knit stretch). No logos or labels.
Navy or khaki jumpers. No logo.
**Plaid jumpers, skirts, or skorts. (Red & blue plaid only plaid #94, can be purchased at
The Academy Uniform Store, 5917 Helmick Ave., Fort Worth (817-292-5437).
Length of shorts, skirts, skorts and jumpers must be finger-tip length or longer.
Solid colored leather or leather-like belt is recommended, but not required.
Shoes must be closed toe/closed heel. Athletic type preferred. Tennis shoes required for
PE.
Socks are required. (Solid color navy, red, white or black, with no patterns.)
Leggings or tights are allowed for girls. (Solid color navy, red, white, black; no patterns.)
Shirts must be tucked in.
Hair bows are permitted. (Solid color navy, red, white or matching plaid; not scarves.)
Hair styles (cut and color) which cause disruption of or interference with normal school
operations are considered inappropriate.
Hats, caps, doo-rags, and any other head covering shall not be worn in the building. Any
head coverings used for the purpose of weather shall be removed before the student
enters the building and placed in his/her cubbie or backpack.
Sweaters, sweatshirts and pull-over vests are permitted. (Solid color navy, red or white.
No logos, stripes or patterns.) Student must be in standardized dress under these items of
clothing. School sweatshirts are allowed any day during cold weather.
School spirit shirts may be worn on Friday with navy, khaki or black bottoms.

Note: Coats are kept in cubbies in the classroom. Children may choose to keep a solid color
sweatshirt in the classroom in case they get cold.
Clothing items may be purchased at a number of local stores including but not limited to:
Army/Navy Store, Target, Walmart, Old Navy, J.C. Penney, Kohls, Academy Sports & Outdoor
Students are held to the Standardized Dress Guidelines while riding in school buses or any other
district vehicles, as well as, all district/school functions, unless allowed otherwise by the
principal. The principal or designee at each elementary school shall have discretion regarding
consequences for standardized dress violations. Repeated offenses may result in more serious
disciplinary action in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
