MCC UNIFORM GUIDELINES

2017-2018
Sir Raleigh Uniform Company of Merritt Island is the official uniform provider of MCC. 321-459-0646
Daily Uniform
Pants/Shorts/Bottoms: Khaki shorts or pants purchased through uniform supplier ONLY. They must fit properly and be worn
at the waist. Ladies may also wear capris. All uniform bottoms must be worn properly, no rolling, appropriate in length and not
excessively form fitting. Altered clothing will be confiscated.
Belt: Solid brown, black, green or white solid belt must be worn. Belt buckles must be a standard size (width of belt loop) with no
logos or emblems. Wallet chains are not allowed.
Shirt: Monday through Thursday students must wear the green collared shirt with MCC Crest purchased through official supplier.
Underclassmen may wear green shirts only. Seniors will be allowed to wear a white Senior shirt. The shirt must be tucked so the belt
and waistband of the pants are visible. On Friday’s students may wear approved MCC t-shirts (i.e. clubs, athletics, honor societies,
etc.)
Undershirts: A solid white or green (no design) long or short-sleeve t-shirt may be worn under the polo shirt.
Shoes: Must be conservative in color. Shoes must be closed toe and closed heel and be worn as designed. Appropriate boots are
permitted. Foot problems are addressed if a doctor’s note is filed with the main office.
Socks: Socks must be appropriate and match the school uniform.
Hair: Boys hair must not touch eyes, ears, or collar. Hair must be neat, clean, and well-groomed. Partially shaven style hair-cuts,
dreadlocks, multi-colored or unnaturally colored hair is not permitted. Sideburns may extend to the bottom of the ear (no mutton-
chops). Boys must be clean shaven every day. Tails, bands, or any accessory to hold the boys’ hair in place is not permitted. Girl’s
hair must be her natural color, traditional and unpretentious.
Accessories: Sunglasses, earrings (boys), plastic earring retainers (boys), any body piercing (including tongue and nose jewelry),
tattoos, and kerchiefs are not permitted at school or any school functions. Necklaces are limited to one and must be worn inside shirt.
Tattoos should be covered.

Mass Day
Boys are expected to wear a neatly pressed, tucked in MCC uniform white oxford shirt, pants, and their MCC uniform tie. All
buttons must be fastened and the tie knotted up. This is the uniform for the day.
Girls are expected to wear a neatly pressed, tucked in MCC uniform white oxford shirt with uniform capri or pants. Clothing may not
be altered in any way.
Students who arrive at school NOT in Mass uniform on designated days, will NOT be permitted to attend class until the proper
uniform is worn. Students are given an unexcused absence in those classes.

Outerwear (Club/Athletic wear must receive prior approval by the administration/athletics.)


Sweatshirt, Jackets or Fleece: Outerwear may only be purchased through the official supplier or school sponsored organization.
These must have prior approval from the administration. Non MCC coats, hats, caps, or bandanas are not permitted in school and will
be confiscated. Outerwear must be worn as designed and hoods may not be worn inside buildings or classrooms.

Physical Education
All students must be in a school approved t-shirt and shorts.

Spirit Days and NUT Days (Non Uniform Day)


On Spirit Day Fridays, students are permitted to wear, any MCC approved sponsored T-shirt/shirt (tucked in) and school bottoms.
Any time a NUT Day is permitted, students must wear any MCC related shirt/t-shirt or appropriate theme of the day clothing (Ie.
Homecoming Spirit Week).. Shirts must represent an official MCC sponsored event or extracurricular activity. Bottoms must be long
jeans, capri pants, or approved shorts, if they are of appropriate length and style consistent with MCC standards. Students who do not
meet the guidelines or one who takes a Spirit/NUT Day without permission will not be able to attend class until he or she is in proper
uniform.

Travel Dress/Attending a MCC sponsored event


All students representing MCC at an off-campus function, sporting event or attending a MCC sponsored event will dress accordingly.
Students attending functions as representative of MCC must dress accordingly: Boys must wear school uniform, shirt, tie, dress slacks
or approved school travel gear; Girls must wear school uniform, blouse, dress slacks/skirts or approved school travel gear.

The MCC faculty, staff, and administration reserves the right to judge the acceptability of all uniform hair style/color and
dress appearance. If an appearance is judged unacceptable the student will not be allowed to attend classes and may be sent
home. In cases where the problem cannot be corrected, students will be disciplined appropriately and sent home.
