Adjectives

An adjective is a word that modifies (describes)


a noun or pronoun.
An adjective can be compared by using er or
est (bluer eye, softer worm,
Mostbeautifulvoice
crispiest cricket, slimiest
water).
An adjective can come after more
most (more dirty, more excited,
most beautiful, most delicious).

or

An intensifier (very, extremely, quite) can come


before an adjective (very crunchy cricket,
extremely hot fire).
A word may be an adjective if it ACTUALLY ends
in any of the following suffixes (endings):
-ish
-al
-ar
-ful
-some
-y

foolish
comical
nuclear
beautiful
awesome
funny
