SECTION 1: Findings
Congress makes the following findings:
1) CISCO has promised compensation for workers who claim personal
injury due to work-related issues
2) Douglas Garcia received a back injury that developed into chronic
back pain while operating heavy machinery, causing him to experience
severe pain and miss multiple days of work, but has only received
compensation for the initial injury, not the chronic pain
3) CISCO does not claim responsibility for Mr. Garcias injuries as they
are not directly caused by a work-related accident
SECTION 2: Purpose
The purpose of this bill is to allow Douglas Garcia to receive the full compensation
he is owed by CISCO.
SECTION 3: General Provisions
CISCO has failed to deliver on their pledge of fully compensating workers for any
work-related injuries, and those that develop from other work-related injuries
should be no different. After filing a claim this August, Mr. Garcia still has not
received any response from CISCO. This bill is to require the Department of
Labor to to locate Mr. Garcias case and decide on a course of action within ten
business days.
