1) Current Prices for the Childrens Discovery Museum are $13 for
children and adults, and $12 for seniors
2) Lowering the prices will cause an increase in attendance of the
museum
SECTION 2: Purpose
The purpose of this bill is to lower the ticket prices of the Childrens Discovery
Museum for visiting classes and accompanying adults.
SECTION 3: General Provisions
In order to encourage students to visit the San Jose Childrens Discovery Museum, it
has been suggested to lower the entrance fees for visiting students and
accompanying adults to $4 and $5, respectively. This will encourage more
schools to schedule field trips to the Childrens Discovery Museum, promoting
hands-on learning outside the classroom, encouraging curiosity and active
learning in children, and allowing more low-income families to be able to visit the
Museum.
SECTION 4: Definitions
Low income family: families that earn less than $45,600 a year
