Festival is a MCCTA Production that showcases five successful entries from the John P.
Anderson Playwriting Competition.

What you need to know about the

John P. Anderson Playwriting Competition:
Entries must have:
-A maximum runtime of 15 minutes.
-A maximum of 5 characters.
-A maximum of 5 total pieces of furniture.
-Furniture may only be chosen from pieces located in the Black Box
-Furniture is optional
-A maximum of 5 total hand props.
-Hand props include: a bowl, spoon, brush, purse, etc
-Props are optional
-A maximum of 5 total sound cues.
-Sound cues include: phone ringing, up/down song, radio, etc
-Sound is optional
-A maximum of 5 lighting cues.
-Lights up and Lights down each count as a separate cue.
-Costumes pulled from the personal closets of the actors.
-No MCCTA stock or purchased items are allowed
-Costumes are optional
To Enter:
-Three hardcopies of the play should be submitted for the judges to consider
-Each copy should include a cover page with your name
-YOUR NAME SHOULD NOT BE WRITTEN ON THE PLAY ITSELF

The competition winner receives a cash award of approximately $1,000.
