Landmark Entertainment will be hosting A Battle of the bands event at CLUB SODA & LE NATIONAL ! (Latulipe.ca , clubsoda.ca) Bands will compete for the Top 5 positions. All Bands will be judged by signed artists and executives from:

Universal, Sony music, Indica Records, as well as Managers, Signed artists and publicists!

25 Hours of recording time at the renowned, world-class Red Rhino Recording studio. (www.redrhinorecording.com) An invitation to perform at A Sold-Out Industry Showcase at The Mod Club Theater in Toronto! (www.themodclub.com) (capacity 700+) (Reps from Sony Canada, Universal Music, Feldman group, Much Music as well as managers will be there to watch your band!) TICKET SALES All bands in the competition will be given tickets to sell to fans and friends for support. Each band will receive 200 tickets. Each ticket is 12$ up front; 14$ at the door. (15$ at the Finals) Each band is required to sell a minimum of 35 tickets to help us cover costs. This DOES NOT cover our promotion costs. This is to cover costs such as venue rental, security, sound tech, light tech, Judges, Stage hands, Studio time, music lawyer fees, publicist fees, etc... Time slots will be determined by priority, based on ticket sales. The reason being; is a BIG part of this show is about networking, making new fans and getting your band heard and exposed. If every band does their part, then every band will play in front of a great audience, in similar past events have had crowds of over 1000 people! For example: If every band sells 80 tickets (usually 20 per band mate), that means your band can be easily showcasing in front of over 1000 people!

Just to be clear: the band that sells the most tickets will get first pick for their performance time. JUDGING Your band will play in one of 3 preliminary rounds, which will be hosted at Le National. You will be competing against 14-16 other bands. If you rank in the top 5-6, you will move on to the final round (industry showcase) at Club Soda! (Only a 2 round event) Bands will be judged according to: Tightness and professionalism 25% Stage Presence & Performance: 20% Originality and Creativity: 15% Song Writing and Structure: 10% Crowd Reaction: 30% It is also important to be aware that crowd reaction is important to our judges; they are looking for bands that have a fan base, and have the ability to win over fans at live shows.

Time and Equipment The show will start at 2pm and end at approximately 11pm. Every band will have a 25 minute set time, with a 10 minute crossover time to set up any equipment. IMPORTANT: All bands will use the same gear! We will Provide top quality equipment: Drums: Full DW Drum Set, (2 rack toms, 1 Floor, 1 bass drum) You may bring your own pedals, snare, and high hat. Guitars: 2 Marshall Cabinets, with 2 JCM 2000 Heads If you want to use your own head, you must notify us ahead of time!

Bass: 1 Ampeg Head and Bass Cab. YOU MUST SEND CONFIRMATION THAT YOU ARE PLAYING THE SHOW IF YOUR BAND IS COMFORTABLE WITH THE DETAILS. We will send you an email as soon as we have an exact date for the show. As well as an email for the first meeting for all participating bands.
