GENDER DISCRIMINATION
INTRODUCTION

OBJECTIVE

METHODOLGY

Our project is a survey of 100 female faculties of VIT regarding

gender discrimination. We have made the analysis of the data
collected by us through this survey and we have compared our
results with the data which we found on the internet.

To know about the condition of women in India

To find out the reasons for gender discrimination

To know the measures for eliminating this

discrimination

To know whether there is any discrimination in VIT

w.r.t the salary of men and women

We prepared a questionnaire of 10 questions as the part of our first review.

As all the group members stay in different hostel blocks and have different
classes, we divided ourselves into groups. Each group went to different faculties
in order to complete the survey.
Half of our members prepared the PowerPoint presentation for the second
review using the data collected at that time.
When we completed the survey, we gathered some stats related to gender
discrimination in India and compared those to the data we had prepared.

The other half of our members prepared the PowerPoint presentation for
the final review.

QUESTIONNAIRE

1. Where do you come from? (Mention state and city)

2. What is the perception that people have about women in your
region?
3. Did you face any problems in getting your educational qualifications?
If so, how did you overcome them?
4. Was your gender a deterrent in getting your current job at VIT?
5. Do you get family support for your profession?
6. Are you married? If yes, were you open to the marriage or was it a
family decision? If no, how does your family look at your decision to
stay unmarried
7. Do you think VIT is more biased towards men in terms of salary?
8. Have you faced any discrimination during the time you have been
working at VIT?
9. How do you think gender discrimination can be conquered as a
society?
10. Are you proud of being a woman?

CONCLUSION

From the conducted survey, we have concluded that gender

discrimination is still prevalent in Vellore and Chennai. This is
mostly due to illiteracy. It can only be eradicated by education
and proper upbringing of the children.
VIT is not biased towards men in any field.
