I have had the pleasure of working with Stephanie Gannon during the Winter 2016 term while she has served as my Assistant in the Program for Active Living. The retirement community setting can be a challenging place for young individuals, as it exposes them to a variety of chronic health conditions and illnesses. Stephanie has shown the ability to establish an excellent rapport with our senior residents, while promoting healthy active living. She was able to understand the goals of our program, and promote them through conversation and interaction with each Village resident. The placement provided a very short period of time to acquire and demonstrate skills. I am thoroughly impressed with how much Stephanie was actually able to accomplish during this period. Stephanie learned and taught a lengthy fitness routine to a group of 30+ participants. Her independent project was extremely creative and relevant to the population, providing an information seminar about falls prevention to two groups of 15-20 residents. Furthermore, Stephanie is also an equally efficient team-player. She worked with a partner to manage the Restorative Walking program, as well as other Guelph-Humber students, to divide up each days tasks and responsibilities. Her high energy and positive 'can-do' approach are important aspects to the successful completion of any goals Stephanie will choose to set. As you can tell, I think very highly of this young woman and recommend Stephanie for employment/education or any other endeavors she chooses to pursue. Sincerely,
Dagmara Klisz (Registered Kinesiologist) (Dated: November 2016)
