In reading, students are Identifying the characters


and major events in a story. They are working on
retelling stories in their own words, as well as, asking
and answering questions about key details in stories.
They will discuss the role of the author and illustrator.

In math, students are comparing and ordering


quantities. They are working on counting objects that
are arranged in a circle, an array or scattered. They
will also work on measuring objects with cubes and
comparing the weights of objects.

In social studies, students will discuss humanmade features. They will talk about models and
how a globe is a model of the earth. They will
locate land and water on the globe. They will
also talk about landforms and bodies of water.

In science, students will talk about the four


seasons. They will talk about the life cycle of
plants, as well as, the plant parts and basic needs
of plants. They will have hands-on experience
with various types of seeds.

In writing, students will recall information about a


personal experience. They will write about the
experience, putting the events in the order in
