NARRATIVE REPORT

The DLSL Musikalista conducted a friendly competition entitled Org Slam

among the different organizations in the institution to showcase their talents in
producing music. The competition was held in the De La Salle Lipa Sentrum last
January 29, 2015 which started at five (5) oclock in the afternoon and finished at nine
(9) oclock in the evening. Originally, the Org Slam Finals should be conducted last
December 12, 2014; however, there were technical difficulties, so it was decided by the
officers to conduct the said competition on January 29, 2015. Furthermore, the bands
who participated in the competition were the following: Ardueeno for JIEE, Limits for
ACES, Euphomystic for IECEP, JPIA Covers for JPIA, Mim and Rainbow Toasters for
COMELEC, and DT for JFINEX. As a competition, awards were given to the winning
bands according to the scores of the judges. The scoring were based on the criteria
prepared by the coordinators of the competition and these are the following: Musicality
(40%), Mastery (25%), Originality (15%), Performance (15%), and Impact (5%) for a
total of one-hundred (100) percent. For the first (1st) place, Limits, second, Mim, and
third, Rainbow Toasters.
SWOT ANALYSIS
Strengths: All of the participants participated very well in the competition, and
came on-time before the call time. Also, the equipments were provided fully,
and functioning properly.
Weaknesses: The audience of the Org Slam were few because of the scheduled
time which was held in the evening and the next day would be a school day.
Opportunities: The participants were given the chance to show their talents in
music as a band, and to know that every organization has a musical band to
compete in such musical competitions inside the school.
Threats: The Org Slam was rescheduled because of technical difficulties even
though the equipments to be used were assembled on the stage.
