Special Issue on
Removal of Organic Compounds with
Photodegradation and Membrane Technology
Call for Papers
Organic pollutants such as phenol and their derivatives,
basically chlorophenols, as well as aniline, dyes, and others,
are present in the euents of a great number of industries,
such as coal conversion at high temperature, petroleum
refining, plastics and resins, and wood and dye industries.
They can be toxic if they are present at high levels; therefore,
their removal from these euents is a topic of great importance. Conventional treatments oer diculties unsolved
in a satisfactory way up to now. Chemical treatments,
such as photodegradation, and physical treatments, such as
membrane technology, are considered to be a promising
alternative for pollutants removal.
We invite researchers to contribute with original research
papers as well as review articles about the removal of
organic compounds by photodegradation and membrane
processes. We are particularly interested in studies focused on
the photodegradation of organic pollutants with advanced
oxidation treatments, their removal by nanofiltration and
reverse osmosis technologies, and the combination of both
types of treatment. With the aim of having the fundamental
knowledge that makes possible the later design of a combined
process that maximizes the yield of elimination of these pollutants, the corresponding kinetic studies and the respective
models will be also accepted. Potential topics include, but are
not limited to:
Photodegradation of organic compounds
Advanced oxidation processes for organic compounds
