Idaho State Standards

The teacher understands

how learners grow and
develop.

This includes various things like

the three this brochure covers, it
contains a total of 10. Including
leadership, instructional
strategies, assessment and
learning environment.

Standard Focus:

Standard 1: Learner
Development
This is critical to a successful classroom
because this is the standard that
encompasses what you as an educator needs
to do. Classrooms have around 20 to 30
students, they each learn in a different ways.
I need to be able to understand how my
students learn and develop.

Standard 1
The teacher understands how learners
grow and develop, recognizing that
patterns of learning and development
vary individually within and across the
cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional,
and physical areas, and designs and
implements developmentally appropriate
and challenging learning experiences.

The importance of this is without content

knowledge I cannot possibly effectively
teach. If you dont know your information
and concepts then you will be unable to be
a great teacher. It is necessary to have a in
depth understanding of all concept areas
you teach.

Standard 4: Content
Knowledge
The teacher understands the central concepts,
tools of inquiry, and structures of the
discipline(s) he or she teaches and creates
learning experiences that make the discipline
accessible and meaningful for learners to assure
mastery of the content. -Standard 4
