Technology Requirements:
Students are expected to regularly check their email. The teacher and CPS office will use email to share information
about the course, grades, college admissions, and social events. CPS suggests that students create a Gmail account.
Attendance Policy:
Full attendance is crucial to your success and an important part of your academic experience. However, the
instructor understands that different extenuating circumstances may arise. Please notify your instructor if you will
be absent for a class.
The instructor will take attendance at the beginning of each class and ask you to sign in every class period. The
sign-in sheet is the official record of your attendance in the course. Students must attend at least 80% of class
periods to fulfill certificate requirements.
Certificate Requirements:
Students must attend at least 80% of classes AND achieve a grade 70% (Pass) or higher to fulfill certificate
completion requirements.
Homework Policy:
Late homework submissions will receive a reduced grade. For each day an assignment is late, the total possible
score will be reduced one letter grade.
Make-Up Assignment Policy:
If you are going to miss a quiz or presentation, please tell the instructor beforehand. You may be allowed to makeup the quiz or presentation. Make-ups may receive a reduced grade. Make-ups will not be allowed without prior
instructor approval.
Electronic Devices in CPS Classrooms:
The instructor can determine if and how personal electronic devices are allowed to be used in the classroom. An
instructor may restrict or prohibit the use of personal electronic devices in his or her classroom, lab, or any other
instructional setting. If the student does not adhere to the instructors policy, he/she may be asked to leave the
classroom. Using personal electronic devices in the classroom can interrupt instruction and learning.
