1st District California Jennifer Savage, the North Coast program


Assembly candidate coordinator for the Ocean Conservancy, an
environmental group supporting the MLPA process,
Karen Brooks announces said she attended Brooks' event and thought Brooks'
comments didn't reflect the work that's been done in
her stance against the the MLPA process.

MLPA Savage said the process has been responsive to the


North Coast's concerns and that there were
Donna Tam/The Times-Standard concessions made so groups could come to a
consensus.

There's a number of ways that the MLPA has

Brooks said that people are concerned with how


devastating the MLPA is to the county's economy
and quality of life. She also said that recreational
fisherman and tribal groups have not had their
concerns included in the MLPA discussion. Brooks
encouraged residents to contact their
representatives and let them know that Humboldt
County residents are unhappy with the results.
