1. Goal: Classroom management. (KSA #7)
Rational: Environment is what can make or break a classroom. I would like to work on my ability to properly
respond to different classroom situations to help build a positive learning environment. This is an area that is
important every year to build on and continue to work towards.
Grade and Subject Area: Math 8 and Math 10C
Time: By the end of the second week I hope to have instilled some routines that my students are able to
understand and positively respond to. As the semester progresses, my abilities will progress as well.
Resources Need:
Talking with current teaching consultants for suggestions on current techniques that work. I will ask
teacher associate, university consultant, and other teaching consultants.
Reading books that can be found in the university library to assist with ideas
Personal reflections on lessons
Indicators of Success:
I will have a positive rapport with students
My classroom will be a positive environment for students as well as visitors
I will have classroom management practices in place
Routine will be evident
Discipline will not be needed (as often)
Goal Reflection
I created a classroom management plan at the start of the school year. As the semester progressed, small adjust
were made. On of this changes was the bathroom policy. Students were leaving for longer than needed time,
and as a staff it was presumably to go on their phone. So before students could leave they had to leave their
phone either with me on their desks. This helped not only the longitude of their bathroom breaks but also the
frequency of them.
I was also able to develop a routine with each class. Visitors were able to clearly see that students knew how
each class started either with bell-work or Mad Minutes and that students knew their jobs during that time.
2. Goal: Properly integrate different approaches to teaching (KSA #9)
Rational: Students learn in a number of different ways and therefore it is very important to teach in more than
one-way.
Grade and Subject Area: Math 8 an Math 10C
Time: Starting first week of internship and continuing throughout

Resources Needed:
Seeking students assistance to assess how they learn best
Talking with current teaching consultants for suggestions on current techniques that work. I will ask
teacher associate, university consultant, and other teaching consultants.
Reading books that can be found in the university library to assist with ideas
Personal reflections on lessons of what techniques works or were less successful
Indicators of Success:
There will be evidence of varied teaching techniques in both unit and lesson plans, as well as in my
reflections.
There will be diverse assessment tools used for both summative and formative
Goal Reflection?
I enjoyed employing different teaching techniques to help students learn. With both classes their were lessons
where I would use a holistic teaching method, small groups or individual instructions for concepts. I also had
students working individually, in pairs and small groups which sometimes I allowed them to choose and other
times would place them in purposeful groups.
My assessments were more stream lines and although used a variety of strategies, I unfortunately majority of
my major assessments were unit test. I also used quizzes and assignments as formative. These assignments
were small projects, handouts or check-in types questions. For formative, I used observation and had regular
check-in with individuals. Additionally, I would have students write a reflective piece on how they believed
they were doing in the unit. I also use a reflective sheet before report cards.
3. Goal: To become involved in at least one co-curricular activity (KSA #14)
Rational: I believe it is important for students' and teachers' experiences in schools to be well rounded.
Grade and Subject Area: Junior and/or Senior High
Time: Throughout the semester
Indicators of Success:
I will be involved and contributing to at least one co-curricular activity.
Goal Reflection?
I was able to be the assistant coach for the Boy Junior High JV Volleyball team. This was an amazing
experience. I attended every practice, game and tournament including an extra tournaments for the Senior
Varsity team. I was often in charge of bring the ball and medical kit to games and tournaments in addition to
tossing the ball during league Triple Ball games. At tournaments I kept stats of the players serves and helped
with warm-up.
