What is good writing and what do good writers do?
Good writing consists of complex words and sentences that form a body of text which flows with
proper grammar and punctuation. Good writing captures the reader's attention through an
expression of thoughts and ideas that are interesting and important. Good writing conveys an
individual's voice whether it be formal or casual. The sentences in a good piece of writing are
fluent and can easily be understood by any reader. Good writing makes the reader think and
question, the piece develops slowly and carefully towards the overall goal. Good writing is
organized and credible as well as through provoking, writing has to be believable and well
represented. A good writer is passionate and applies themselves to their writing while also
making the piece compelling. A good writer writes with a purpose and has a sense of audience
and writes to entice. A good writer knows how to use a consistent tone and style throughout the
entire piece of writing.
